Therapeutic Yoga
Many scientific studies have demonstrated the beneficial effects of Yoga on the mind and the body, with improvement in a variety of medical conditions including stress, anxiety, pain, and fatigue. At MindBodySpirit Care we offer the opportunity to have a private session with our skilled certified yoga instructor. In an individualized and comfortable setting, you will learn the proper form and alignment of the body and the breath, critical for strength, flexibility, relaxation, and optimal health. With guidance and care you will receive simple individualized exercises that you will then be able to easily incorporate into your daily health and fitness routines at home.
The academic research literature contains numerous scientific articles on Yoga and its effects on a wide range of health conditions with new studies published all the time. Specific series of postures and other techniques have been shown to be beneficial for a variety of health conditions and populations. A recent medical journal review article on yoga concluded that “there is a growing body of support for yoga from randomized controlled trials for improving quality of life, sleep, and mood”. Evidence-based medicine and Yoga is grounded in proven, peer-reviewed scientific research into Yoga and its health effects. Many studies have examined the effectiveness of specific Yoga postures and techniques and found scientifically significant results for: Anxiety Arthritis Asthma Cardiovascular diseases Chronic pain Depression Diabetes Irritable Bowel Syndrome Menopause Prenatal health and many more conditions
